The past week has seen the start of formal planning and organizing for the coming season. The period between now and opening time in October and for the duration of the season will be a mass of huge activity. We have a number of changes happening in the Surf Club, a heap of construction to get done and excitingly plenty of guests booked in to look after and many waves to surf. There were always plenty of helpers when reading and replying to emails.
Boss man Kela likes the idea of taking over this role!!
We have the PNG National Surf Championships in March 2011 which is going to be very exciting for us as a Club, competing at our first National Titles and to make it even more special we are lucky enough to be hosting them. This means though a bunch of things have to be done on top of the changes we are putting in place for the coming season.
Here is a photo of our first Surf Club meeting with all our surfers, talking technique, training, judging, surfing in contests and what we are going to do this season so we can perform well at the Titles. We also spent a lot of time watching different DVDs and surf footage.
Come Friday afternoon, after quick waswas in some fun little waves with glassy conditions and mangi singing in the line up, there was a game of touch, singsing for pre game entertainment and then into the Haus Bung for Friday night treat of watching the NRL!
